100% free home insulation is available in almost any area of the UK, to cover the cost of both cavity wall and loft insulation. In other areas, private households where anyone is aged 70 or above, or in receipt of a qualifying benefit, will also qualify for a full Grant. All other private households are guaranteed to receive a grant for up to 70% of the cost. These insulation grants may not be available for much longer so find out about them whilst you can! Grants are designed to be replaced by Green Deal loans, which will recover the upfront cost through charges on a household’s energy bills. The Green Deal is due to start on 1st October 2012 and Grants are scheduled to end on 31st December 2012.
